Overview of criminal law and procedure. Diverse view points of major issues in management of criminal matters. Processing cases from arraignment to parole. In this survey course students will learn about the history and development of criminal law. Elements of specific crimes will be covered in the context of statutory interpretation and the application of case law. Criminal procedure will be covered as a distinct subject and will be illustrated in the context of following a case from arraignment to parole.
