COST: Conference fee: $375 to NCJFCJ + UNR processing fee: $40 

This 3 hour workshop will examine the appropriate responses to resource re‑allocation of the increased risk level of youths being supervised in the community. The discussion will include making case planning discussions on objective assessments, and the effective use of resources.

Major Points:

  1. General impact on juvenile probation when a state run institution or other major provider closes down.
  2. Importance of assessing risk and need with the increased acuity levels.
  3. Assessment of existing community resources.
  4. Development of a continuum of care and services.
  5. Public opinion and the media.
